I’m No Dummy… Am I?

It’s no secret I love to read.

And I’m constantly trying to learn new things.

So what am I reading right now?  Sophie’s ChoiceWar and Peace?

No, I’m reading this:

Nikon D90 for Dummies

Cover to cover.

Nikon D90 for Dummies

Because one of my resolutions this year was to learn how to actually use the expensive camera I bought myself near the end of 2009.  When I make a substantial investment, I need to learn more than the basic features.

Because I’m tired of taking blurry photos.

You want to be able to tell what you’re looking at, right?

And let’s face it – the manual that came with my camera is just too damn hard for me to figure out.

So maybe I am a dummy.

But with pictures and instructions like these:

And these:

Hopefully we’ll be seeing less blurry pictures like this:

Blurry Kitty

…from me in no time.

Right?

How are you coming along with your challenging resolutions this year?

So, I followed your lead with the “Dummies” book for my camera as well. And, true to my form, I still haven’t cracked it open :) Maybe one of these days! Speaking of which, we still need to take a photo trip.

Haha, I got most of the way through mine. I think once you pick it up, you’ll start learning some great things and keep going. I find that I often go back to it now as a reference, because I’ll remember reading that I could do something, and then I need to look it up to find out exactly how to do it again.

You know I’m game for a shooting trip – just tell me when/where you want to go!
